QuickBooks Error Code 6000, 301

So What Does Error Code -6000, -301 Mean?

Based on Intuit, QuickBooks Error Code 6000, 301 has multiple possible causes.  The possible causes include:

  • a person is attempting to open a QuickBooks company file (.qbw) that is kept in a spot except that a local hard disk or even the hard disk drive of a server running the QuickBooks Database Server Manager
  • the company file (.qbw) is damaged
  • encryption software is installed regarding the hard disk where in fact the company file (.qbw) is stored

The QuickBooks company file (.qbw) must certanly be stored on a nearby hard disk or perhaps the hard disk of a server running the QuickBooks Database Server Manager.  Choosing the company file on other kinds of storage media may produce this error.  Samples of company file locations that can produce this error are:

  • USB or thumb drives
  • Zip drives
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices
